Sentiments for Seiser Alm
“One of my favorite places to ski on earth.”
- Jessie Diggins about Seiser Awesome
Lumi Experiences has been offering self-guided trips to Seiser Alm for the past 5 years. It is by far our most popular Self-Guided trip and still seems to exceed expectations. We are thrilled to announce the first Seefeld & Seiser Alm group trip this January!
The highest plateau in the Alps, Seiser Alm is full of superlatives. At around 6,000 feet of elevation, the snow certainly is some of the best in Europe. 80+ km of trails traverse the rolling terrain with panoramic views of the Dolomites. The skiing is excellent with daily grooming. The sunsets against the surrounding spires make Seiser Alm so memorable.
The high plateau is accessible primarily by gondola, so when the gondola closes late in the afternoon, the skiers staying in the small ski village pretty much have the paradise to themselves.
Located in Italy’s South Tyrol region, the dining in Seiser Alm is as good as the skiing. The trailside huts offer Italian pasta and pizza, as well as Austrian schnitzel and strudel. Our favorite hut serves their homemade soup with wildflowers and cheese from their cattle that graze in the meadows through the summer.
Finish your ski at your hotel and relax with a dip in their pool or sweat in their sauna. The hotel’s restaurant looks out over the iconic Schlern Dolomite formation and you can see the lights of the Pisten Bully grooming the trails for perfect tracks tomorrow.
Still, words can’t capture the experience of skiing in Seiser Alm. Photos can help, but the best way to understand is to experience it for yourself. Now you can ski in Seiser Alm with the support you expect from a Lumi trip, including local trip leaders, daily ski waxing, relaxed transportation and the excellent lodging.
While many Lumi trips include the opportunity to ski a Worldloppet event, this trip is focused on simply skiing and discovering the local trails and culture – no pressure or racing. Sign up by August 31 and save $300 on the Seefeld & Seiser Alm trip.
See you on the trail,
