FRANCE TRANSJUrassienne WORLDLOPPET TRIP
Experience some of the best skiing in France’s Jura mountains, explore the 200+ km of international ski trails crossing the border between France and Switzerland. At the end of the trip, participate in the Transjurassienne Worldloppet event.
Located in the Franche-Comté region of eastern France in the Jura Mountains, the region is perhaps most famous for its mild, slightly sweet Comté cheese -- France’s most commonly produced cheese. Comté is a close cousin to the Swiss Gruyère cheese, produced right on the other side of the border. The trip includes the opportunity to sample some of the local cheeses, paired perfectly with regional French and Swiss wines. The ski trails lead to cozy mountain huts with warm meals for lunch.
When you are not out skiing, sample the French cuisine at local restaurants, tour a fort, famous for guarding the local cheeses and relax while we wax your skis, including race wax for the Transju’.
