The Lumi trip could be the best trip I have ever taken. The personal service [from our trip leaders] was exceptional... The experiences are worth a lifetime of memories. It was great to not have to worry about waxing. The hotels were just what I was hoping for... quaint and homey with exceptional food.

ICELAND & Fossavatn TRIP

Extend your ski season into April!

Much exploration awaits, both by ski and on foot, in the land of fire and ice. From Iceland’s urban capital Reykjavik, journey northward through the rugged countryside to the strikingly beautiful Westfjords region. Along the way, explore waterfalls, volcanic craters, and see fjords. Stay overnight in a peaceful and remote town on the northern coast. In the evening, take in the stars and perhaps even the Northern Lights from the natural hot springs at your family-run hotel.

Reach the small coastal town of Ísafjörður, capital of the Westfjords region and spend four nights in a new hotel in the heart of town. From your cozy and brightly decorated room, take in the views of the rugged countryside beyond. Clip into your skis and explore the extensive groomed cross-country ski trails before participating in the Fossavatnsgangan ski marathon — the final Worldloppet event of the season. Afterwards, celebrate your accomplishment at the Worldloppet’s end-of-season dinner party, a highlight for many, with delicious local seafood, music and dancing.

On the scenic drive back to Reykajvik, savor Icelandic waffles at one of the smallest farmhouses in Iceland and take a dip in a geothermal pool on the shores of a fjord. When you are not out skiing or exploring the land of fire and ice, taste a variety of Icelandic cuisine and enjoy relaxation time at your hotels.
