Trip highlights? Ski to eat, eat to ski, my favorite activities! Skiing into huts, having a big bowl of soup, and skiing on back to our hotel. Our group had similar ski skills so it worked to generally hike and ski together and highly compatible, so the people part worked great!

Norway SIght-Skiing Trip

No ski races on this trip, just endless ski trails, cultural experiences, and Nordic landscapes & cuisine

Nearly endless ski trails in Norway await. Three nights overlooking the Oslo fjord from your hotel high on the Holmenkollen plateau provide a unique combination of urban activity and cross-country skiing. Ski right from your hotel in a country where skiing is the way of life. Stop in one of the many trailside huts and sample the Norwegian delicacy of Brunost: the sweet brown cheese that melts in your mouth and is typically served atop thin waffles with jam. A favorite local activity is sledding the Korketrekkeren or “corkscrew” trail, accessible by tram so you can simply enjoy the childhood thrill of swooshing downhill.

Your week continues in Lillehammer, site of the 1994 Olympic Games and proverbial birthplace of skiing. Walk out the door of your hotel and stroll the Storgata cobbled pedestrian street running through the center of town. Explore the Lillehammer ski trails, which occasionally lead to trailside saunas, before skiing more beautiful trails in Sjusjøen, yet another skier’s paradise. In the afternoons, warm up and relax in your hotel’s wellness area which offers refreshment after skiing. On your last evening, raise a glass with your travel companions to your week of skiing and discovery in Norway.
