Seefeld & Seiser Alm: Self-Guided
Our most popular self-guided trip!
Combine two of the alps’ most scenic cross country ski destinations: Seefeld, Austria and Seiser Alm, Italy. Explore the vast trail network of over 200 km in Seefeld and Leutasch. With varying terrain from very flat to long sustained climbs and rolling descents, there is something for everyone here. Seefeld is home to a one-of-a-kind apres ski culture at the trail head, where you can sip prosecco in the sunshine while moving to the music and surveying the trendy nordic scene. Away from the trails, experience sledding on a traditional Austrian toboggan, known locally as a Rodel, and try your hand at Eisstockschiessen, Austria's version of curling. The Olympic city of Innsbruck is a short train ride away and well worth a visit to stroll through the cobbled old town with the stunning Nordkette mountain range as a backdrop.
Continue your journey south across the border in Italy on the Seiser Alm, or Alpe di Siusi, plateau. A cable car takes you up to the plateau, where an 80 km trail network provides panoramic views of the iconic Schlern rock formation. Our customized route notes guide you along the trails that suit your wishes and lead to some of the tastiest treats on any nordic trail network in the world. One guest favorite is a stop at a local farm-to-table restaurant where you can learn to make your own ricotta cheese. The trip ends in Verona, where you can stroll the romantic streets, home to Romeo and Juliet, before embarking on your journey home.
